Dear Brethren in Germany and Poland:

It has been brought to the attention of the Bible House (U.S.A.) that some of its appointees have been teaching
progressive, so called, “advancing truth” from the platform and representing themselves as having the authority from
the Bible House (THEY DO NOT) and demanding that the brethren accept these teachings; even though these teachings
have not been presented in the Present Truth magazine. How can the brethren “prove all things” (1 Thes. 5:21) when
thoughts are only presented verbally and not in our magazines? The Bible House wants to make it clear that these
teachings and demanding (clerical) tactics are NOT sanctioned by the Bible House! This was evidenced publically by the
fact that Bro. Dan Herzig was sent to Poland specifically to make clear the Bible House’s position on these matters.
For some time now, the Lord has allowed these activities to continue, evidently for the purpose of imposing a testing
work upon some leaders in our movement. This has resulted in a great deal of sifting work [incorrect teachings and
clerical tactics] by some leading brothers. The Lord has brought these unauthorized activities to the attention of the
Bible House thereby indicating to us that it was time to say, “no further” (2 Tim. 3: 9). We at The Bible House find it
necessary to take some action to correct the wrong doing of these individuals that have chosen to go against the
recommended arrangements of the L.H.M.M. as set forward by our Pastor’s. These errant ones proceed ahead of the
Lord (at their peril) and act as Clerics with their demanding attitudes.
The Lord has brought these things to our attention and we now recognize the errant leaders that have made charges
against brethren who have, in any way, resisted these “so called new truths” and clerical tactics. The brethren that are
being railed against appear to be in good faith, serving the Lord through the L.H.M.M. As we consider these things it
has become necessary for us to write against their false teachings and miss-use of arrangements as narrow, bitter and
perhaps even slanderous. Unfortunately these teachers (entrusted with the Epiphany Truth) are not in harmony with
it, but are in harmony with the past unfaithful clergy and their partisan followers who acted against the arrangements
of our Pastor (during the Parousia time). Following our Pastor’s example, we notice that he did not allow himself to be
diverted from his defense of the Truth or from his refutation of their opposing errors; likewise, we will not allow
ourselves to be diverted by similar, ill-mannered and incorrect teachings of our day.
Using our Pastor’s example, “we are set for the defense and confirmation of the Epiphany Truth" as led by the Lord.
We will act accordingly whenever the needs of the brethren (sheep) and the Truth require it. It is for the same selfish
and partisan reasons that motivated the cleric-like actions to deride our Pastor in his pertinent activity, and have also
been motivating the Epiphany errorists to deride us in our pertinent activities (2 Tim. 3: 1-9); vs. 9 shows that God by
His mouthpieces will thoroughly make manifest those teaching errors. The Bible House is the custodian of the
Epiphany Truth, so if we should cease to defend the Truth and its arrangements from the attempts to set it aside, or
any of its various features, the Lord would surely raise up someone else in our place to defend it
However, we have waited for the Lord to manifest errant ones first, but even then, remain on guard that we do not
put ourselves in the way of God’s Chariot; for if we do, it will surely run over us to our injury. His ways are best, they
lead to rest, since God plans them all (PT 1946 p 149;-E-2, p. 91). God will keep only the very best tried and tested
ones, just as was our Lord Jesus (Heb. 5: 8).
Jehovah speaks of the effectiveness of his word in Isaiah 55: 11, “So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where I sent
it.” Though many fall around us, if we keep the faith we will find our place in the Kingdom of God, just as He has
promised and hear His, “well done good and faithful servant.”

We add some thoughts from the Parousia and Epiphany Pastors:
R. 5948 Heart Trouble The
proper attitude of heart accepts God's decision as not only wiser but more just than our own. Consequently, when we
see any who have enjoyed the light of Present Truth abandoned by the Lord and led into outer darkness, we are to
conclude that before being thus abandoned there must have been in them "an evil heart of unbelief in departing from
the living God." "He is faithful who hath promised" that "if any man will do His [the Father's] will, he shall know of the
doctrine, whether it be of God." (John 7:17.) Whoever, therefore, loses the doctrines of Christ after once having had
them, has surely done more than get his head confused, His heart must have been separated from the Lord previously;
for so long as we abide in Him, it will not be possible for any of the snares of this "evil day," this "hour of temptation,"
to entrap us; none shall pluck us out of the Father's hand; He is fully able to take care of us.

Among such will doubtless be many of the Scribes and Pharisees of the Jewish and Gospel Age Harvests (Matt. 23: 33)
who have through their sins, especially against God's Truth, so greatly undermined their characters as to make it in
some cases impossible for the Millennial arrangements to reform them. The old men who do not fill their Millennial
days with good works, are those who at the end of the Millennium—in the little season—will be found unworthy of
life, and thus be put into the Second Death.
Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth
—2 Tim. 2: 15
This manna text December 20 invites us to “prove all things” as God’s method of teaching (not by one demanding
acceptance) that cannot be proved because it has not been published.
We give Bro. Johnson’s thoughts:
“God's children, especially those who are teachers, should not accept with blank, unquestioning minds any opinions
offered them. They are to study and test them as to their harmony or disharmony with themselves, Bible passages and
doctrines, God's character and Christ's Ransom, facts and the designs of the Bible Godward, Christward, Churchward
and Worldward. Only such things as are proven to be in harmony with these seven things, should the Lord's people
accept. Such study, testing, is necessary, if we would be workmen approved unto God, and will result in our never
having to hang our heads with the shame of defeat and controversy with gainsayers, and will enable us more and more
rightly to distinguish one feature of the Word from another, giving us clear and correct views of the separate doctrines,
precepts, promises, exhortations, prophecies, histories and types of the Bible, and giving us ability to use them-P '34,
