//
//  Welcome to EVF_Workbench setup!
//
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

This installer will install EVF_Workbench on your computer. EVF_Workbench is a graphical
front-end for National Semiconductor's svf2evf.exe conversion program.

To perform the installation:

1) Save the .zip file containing this readme file to a convenient location on your computer.
   Common locations include the desktop, "My Documents", or c:\temp, the temporary files
   directory.
2) Extract all the files in the .zip archive to a convenient folder on your computer where you
   can find them again. The destination for the files need not be empty, but if it already
   contains a file with a name the same as one in the .zip file, you will be prompted to overwrite it.
3) Locate the setup.exe icon in the folder where you unzipped the installation files and
   double-click on it to run it. You can also run it from a command-line window if you prefer,
   or by using the "Run..." icon in your start menu. Make sure you execute the correct setup.exe
   because many installation programs share this executable name.
4) Follow the installation instructions to install the program to the desired location.

Installation notes:

EVF_Workbench setup will install the EVF_Workbench executable by default to the following folder,
creating it if it does not already exist.

C:\Program Files\National Semiconductor Corp\EVF_Workbench

The setup program will also create four subdirectories of the installation directory:

.\ConfigFiles
.\SVF_Demo_Files
.\EVF_Demo_Files
.\EVF_Workbench_Help

These directories contain the required configuration files for the svf2evf conversion program,
some sample SVF files that can be used to test the operation of the EVF_Workbench program,
some sample EVF files created using the program, and a compiled HTML help file to be used
with Microsoft Windows(R) help.

Setup will also install the current version svf2evf.exe console application, which can be
run stand-alone from a command-line window if desired. This console application must reside
in the same directory as the EVF_Workbench executable. If it does not, EVF_Workbench will
not run properly and will report an error.

Setup will also install a default svf2evf conversion script default.ecs. This script
specifies the default install directories, so it will not run without modification if the
program is installed somewhere other than the default. The script is a simple ASCII file,
however, and can be easily modified with any available text editor, such as notepad.

Setup will (optionally) create shortcuts to EVF_Workbench on your desktop and in your
Start menu. In the Start menu, the shortcut will appear in a program group called
National Semiconductor Corp.

Once you have run the setup.exe program, it is okay to delete all the files extracted from
the .zip file as well as the .zip file itself. If you think you might want to reinstall the
program later, just save the .zip file and follow the above instructions again.

This readme file and the license.txt file will be copied to the directory where the program
is installed if you need to refer to them again.
