That was perfect, Stephanie.
Frank Kern:
That was really good. That was a good one. Well, it’s great to be
here.
Trey Smith:

I mean you just get so excited you know.
Trey Smith:
I’m just I’m so excited I can’t stand it. I just wanted to take a
quick second here to thank Stephanie, who’s been our host for the
last three weeks. And she, I figured out today, was listening to us
talk straight for eight hours. Probably longer than any of you.
You know. She’s really been a trooper. And I want to thank her.
Frank Kern:
Way to go, Stephanie. And tonight we’ve got both country and
western with the good old List Control Brothers Boys Band. And I
just want to – I’ve got an important announcement to make. It’s
come to my attention that cousin Trey actually has the eye of the
tiger.
Trey Smith:
I do have the eye of the tiger.
Frank Kern:
Every day.
Trey Smith:
Frank has been looking – you know now actually I’ve got a good
quick story. Frank gave me the creepiest looking ring I’ve ever
seen in my life. Actually he didn’t give it to me. He showed it to
me and I stole it from ya. And then I found out your dad gave it to
ya but –
Frank Kern:
Gosh, thanks a lot. Yeah, family heirloom lost. My father –
Trey Smith:
And, well, it was a ring that had the most realistic looking glass
eyeball on it. And it was the creepiest thing in the world. And I
took a picture of it back when I did that Twitter fad that’ll be gone
in about a year. And I took a picture of it and posted it on there.
And someone told me, Frank, it was from a movie. An 80s movie
like the Beastmaster.
Frank Kern:
Beastmaster. Yeah. I saw that movie.

So there’s that.
Frank Kern:
That’s a damn good story. I guess that means you might actually
also be the beastmaster.
Trey Smith:
I could be the beastmaster. Who holds the eye of the tiger.
Frank Kern:
All right. So we’ve gotten the call off to an excellent start. We’ve
discussed the Beastmaster, the fact that you have a kleptomania
problem and steal family heirlooms from me; therefore causing an
incurable rift between my father and I who are no longer on
speaking terms. We’ve got both country and western tonight. I’m
pretty sure that kind of covers everything. I don’t know of any
reason why we’d want to continue the call.
Trey Smith:
Yeah, we’ll go ahead and hang up.
Frank Kern:
Yeah. I guess we should take a couple of them questions though
before we do. I think we have a lot of people on. This is kind of
amazing. I thought, you know we’d have like 20 people on. But
we’re probably cracking several hundred mark here shortly. And
that’s impressive. Usually after having done this type of stuff 40
billion times, by the last module you get like 10 people that are still
troopering in there. It looks like we’ve got a good crowd though
so that’s awesome. So let’s get cracking. What do you say,

Great. I’m excited to get on.
Frank Kern:
Well, we got country and western. What more can you ask for
today?
Caller:
Exactly. My site is BabiesOrganic.com.
Trey Smith:
Cool.
Caller:
And I sell organic baby products. So like clothing, skincare, toys,
that kind of thing.
Frank Kern:
Awesome.
Caller:
So, sorry my phone – somebody’s just calling through it’s beeping.
So I have just a couple quick questions. I know most of your stuff
is geared more towards information products. And I’m trying to
incorporate information in my products. And all the products I sell
I essentially I buy them at wholesale and then I just sell them retail.
So none of the products are actually mine. So my couple questions
are – so I figured out like the main kind of need of my customer.
Well, my general customers are parents obviously. Mostly moms.
With kids like age one to five. And in general I guess what they
kind of need or desire is to provide like a safe nontoxic
environment for their kids. So my question is, with regards to – let
me just see here. So with regards to the pay per click, like with the
landing page, because I have a site and like there’s quite a bit of
product. Probably about 150 products on my site. Is it best to do
the landing page or just go straight to my site cause it’s like the
products?

Trey Smith:
Go ahead, Frank.
Frank Kern:
Well, no you go ahead. Let’s see what – I mean, you know I was
just gonna make up something.
Trey Smith:
I was just gonna say a lot of what we talked about in the course, if
you’re talking about for this e-commerce store website, how to
advertise it or if you made an information product. Which were
you talking about?

No, like with my current site. Yeah, my catalog e-commerce site.
Yes.
Trey Smith:
This would be a little bit different than what we advertise, because
the landing page stuff and the emails and all that aren’t gonna work
as well. Cause what you’re gonna have is more impulse buyer. So
someone that types in, and I actually just emailed my wife that
store cause that’s –
Caller:
Oh, great.
Trey Smith:
She would love. We have a two year old. And she goes to
doctors.com and buys him stuff. So we’ll see if we can start using
you guys out.
Caller:
Great.
Trey Smith:
But yeah, so what I would do is take like each section. I actually
released this video last night for the Google Search network. I
would check that video out. And you can see where we advertise it
to a certain category of a product. All right. So your section
would just be like diapers. And then I would find keywords
related to buy organic diapers, get diapers online, all that kind of
stuff. And just send it to a search result or a category for a page or
whatever with all your different diapers. And do that and it’s on
separate ad group. So you’d have like the organic diapers ad
group, you know and then have like the organic bath, you know
shampoo or whatever category. And then advertise off the
keywords directly to that category. So that would go along with
the relevancy. So even though this new video I just put up won’t
really have everything to do with what you’re doing, you’ll get the
idea of what Google wants and what will rank you well in Yahoo
as well, is by having everything so relevant. And that’s what I
would so since you got an e-commerce store.
Caller:
Okay. And then would you suggest like with using Aweber still
and like have like a pop up that says like get a free report. Like
cause I still want to generate obviously a list of some sort of –
Trey Smith:
Yeah.
Frank Kern:
-- have one of them opt-in box on the right hand, top right hand
part of your page offering a free thing. And, you know having
been a parent twice, well, I mean I guess you’re always a parent
once. But having had two kids and being particularly traumatized
by the ages between one and five when the children would not

sleep or let us get any rest ever. I can tell you it’s a very big desire
of people even though they come in looking for clothes and stuff,
is to just have the kid chill out and let you go to sleep, you know.
So you could have an opt-in bribe which is like revealed, you
know how to have your baby sleeping through the night by the end
of today or whatever, you know.
Caller:
Right. Okay. Yeah and –
Frank Kern:
And that’s the bribe to get them to opt-in. And then you just sell
them the organic stuff. Cause they’re not really turning a corner.
It’s still that same umbrella of interest.
Caller:
Right. And that’s what I’m trying to do. Like I just created like a
five tips to a safer home or something like that. And I am a mom
and I do have a three year old who is great. And she slept through
the night like at 11 months or 11 weeks old. And so I have – I
think I’m fairly successful as a parent. So I do like you said in the
video you have to know what you’re talking about. So I feel like –
Trey Smith:
I’m a real good parent. Frank is a real bad parent.
Caller:
Oh, I find that hard to believe. So, then, okay so then my other
question, with regards to mastermind, with products like this
would it be better to do complementary people versus like people
who are like selling the same clothing, you know line that I do kind
of thing?
Frank Kern:
Complementary is okay. It’s totally fine. Cause you’re in the
same market, you know. So like one of my mastermind partners is
Jeff Johnson. And I would say that we are complementary and not
competitors. Because he sells primarily SEO traffic getting stuff
and I sell persuasion. But we still serve the same market. So it’s
good for us to talk to each other and plot things out, you know and
say well, this worked and this didn’t work, so forth and so on.
Caller:
Okay. So – but so for somebody selling like product, like e-
commerce, would you say it’s better to have complementary versus
like the competitor or it doesn’t matter either way is good?
Frank Kern:
It doesn’t matter.
Caller:
Okay.
Trey Smith:
Yeah, I would say just e-commerce in general. Someone killing it,
you know in e-commerce.
