youmayjourneyinhisfootsteps.
ASojourninAlexandriaisbuiltonafoundation
ofimprovisationaltheatre.Thegroupfirst
createscharacters,asexplainedinthe“Building
theCharacters”section.Thesecharactersthen
begintheirJourneywhichwillconsistofalong
stringofconflicts.TheGMframesthefirstscene
thenallowstheplayerstoseizetheinitiative.
Theparticipantscanfreelyrole-playuntilthe
pointwhereaconflictarises.
ASojourninAlexandriaisagameexamining
howajourneycanshapeacharacter,forgoodor
forill.It'smeanttotellstoriesofboththe
physicalvoyageandtheethicalone.The
characterstrytowalktheknife'sedgebetween
thedeprivationoftheharshDesertandtheexcess
oftheopulentCity.
Eachtimethereisaconflict,theparticipantsroll
theirdice.Theindividualwhowinstheconflict
narratesit'sresolutionandframesthenextscene.
Theparticipantsrole-playoncemore,until
anotherconflictbegins.
Thisgameisintendedforasinglesessionofplay;
ideallysuitedtoconventionplayorasan
intermissiontoanongoingcampaign.Itinvolves
oneGameMasterwhowillonewhodirectsthe
DesertandtheCityduringthecourseofplay.
Additionally,thegamerequiresbetweenoneand
sixplayerswhoportraytravellerswhowillwork
togethertoreachorfleefromthegreatcityof
Alexandria.Eachparticipantneeds6six-sided
dice,acharactersheet,awritingimplementand
sixsmallmarkersortokens.
Thegamewillconcludeapproximately25minutes
beforetheendoftheallotedtime.Thistimewill
beevenlysplitbetweeneachoftheplayers,who
willeachnarratetheircharacter'sindividualfinal
scenesinturn.Thesefinalsceneswillbeinspired
bythecharacter'sEdgescoresandallowthe
playerstoexplainiftheyheldtruetotheir
ReasonoverthecourseoftheirJourney.
