These activities are designed to encourage
students to engage with the story, to interpret,
and to give their own reader responses.

As shown in the chart above, all Bookworms
Library resources are available as PDF files on
the website and can be downloaded FREE.
To access these resources, you need to
register with the Oxford Teachers’ Club. This is
because sensitive information used in students’
assessment is included, so it is best for teachers
to register and have password protection.
Also on the website are links to:
• The
Oxford Bookworms catalogue.
This gives
the front cover and back-cover text for every
Bookworm, which can be used in pre-reading
activities, and to help students choose which
titles they want to read.
Sample pages and audio clips
for each
Bookworms language level.
Bookworms Club Reading Circles.
The
photocopiable role sheets, and all the
information needed to set up reading circles.
Articles for teachers
on using graded readers

Activity Worksheets
The book summary on the first page is intended
only
for the teacher. The worksheets can be done
by students working alone or in groups.
The Tests
These enable the teacher to check whether
students have read and understood the story.

Bookworms Audio Recordings
Audio CDs are a growing part of the Library.
• All Stage 1 titles have audio
• Over 140 titles in the Library have audio
• Available as stand-alone CDs
• Also available as CD Packs (book + CD)
The full text is read by professional actors at
carefully controlled speeds which enable students
to follow the recordings with ease.
